Home

So many people tonight are missing the comfort of home. Last night was a record setting night for tornadoes.
This is just a wish for those people.

April 11 Block a Day

Today was the first day back after Spring Break. The kids were so rested and relaxed, and it was a VERY smooth day! Lovely!
And as I worked on my lesson plans I realized how very short the time is now... only 8 weeks left!
Here is my block for this rainy Monday:

Really? I forgot to blog AGAIN???

In my defense, I started another project yesterday. It is a really big project and will take a long time and I am not going to share it yet! But it was pretty absorbing yesterday!
(I am not pregnant... remember the hysterectomy in
December?!)
Oh well. I made the block, and I think it is a good one, and I thought I had blogged it but apparently not.
So here is the April 10 Block:
IAnd here are the Bee Blocks for Sandi, Bee There or Bee Squares for April:
Her fabric is gorgeous, quite fun to sew on!

Then, this...

Then, I made a gazillion half-square triangles with my charm pack of Kate Spain's Central Park using the tutorial HERE.
And here is the layout for them:
Phew! Good day!

Block a Day, April 8

Today's block, looking out over the backyard... full of daffodils.
Check it out, a happy use of yellow!
And here is a picture of my solid scraps, all lined up on my cutting tabel waiting to become blocks. I love this rainbow that greets me every day!
And this is a new technique I am trying out... I will show you the results tomorrow after doing the hand stitching.

I FORGOT TO BLOG YESTERDAY!

In my defense I did not have a wonderful day because I didn't sleep well the night before. But still, I made the block and forgot to post! Holy Cow!
This block looks like a sleepless night to me!

And the blocks for Kathi, April Bee Scrappy.

April Bee Block #2 and Daily Block for April 6

This block is for Jane, Sew Bee Wonky.
Jane asked that we not connect them together so that she could mix them all up when she receives them all. I have enjoyed getting to know Jane so much, and she is such a sweet person. I hope her quilt is just spectacular!

And I woke up this morning and this little block just jumped right into my brain!
So I made it for today.

April Bee Block #1

For Meagan, A Notion or Two, Round 3
Cathedral Window, from a great tutorial found

April 5 BaD

I have really been stripey lately!
This time of year we are caught between winter and spring and not really feeling either.
So I cleaned the front door window and swept the front walk so I felt as though I had done some spring cleaning.
Back to the machine!

April 4 Block a Day

Colors inspired by a walk in the Arboretum just before a storm... buds on the cherry trees.

April 2 & 3 Block a Day, Michigan

Weekend in Michigan to begin Spring Break 2011.
If you have never seen the Great lakes, they are incredible, beautiful, not like the ocean but not at all like an inland lake. Just unique. And the color on a sunny day is not like any other body of water. And they never fail to make me feel that I am home. Sigh... happy!
The beaches are sometimes stone covered, and sometimes sand with stones throughout. And the stones are worn smooth from hundreds of centuries of tumbling in the water. And their colors are rich and subtle and surprising. Inspiration for a million quilts!

I have been looking forward to this week so much. Cannot wait to get started on my list of fabulous stuff to do.
But first, a visit with my mom and sister!
Back Sunday!
